Your salary in the USA
Share
According to the law of the United States the lowest wage (pay rate) is $ 7.25 per hour. The hourly pay can be less than that, in cases when an individual is employed at a specific job position when most of the salary is formed by the received tips by the customers. Students can usually expect to work 32+ hours per week. In some cases, the participants can work more than 40 hours per week (overtime). Students often find a second job for the summer, but finding of a second job and receiving of overtime hours, are not guaranteed. Employers pay the salaries by bank checks weekly or every two weeks. We recommend to our students to have pocket money in the amount of $1,000 at the time of their arrival in the U.S. to cover all expenses for food, deposits and accommodation until they receive their first pay check. It is very important every participant in the program to know that the wages might not cover all of the expenses and that they should bring additional personal funds. What you can not work The trip |
